University Distinguished Teaching Scholars at Colorado State University

Those faculty members appointed as University Distinguished Teaching Scholars have records of performance ranking them among the most outstanding teachers and educators in their disciplines, as reflected by their accomplishments as both scholar and teacher, lending talents and expertise to teaching-related projects and scholarship at Colorado State. Distinguished Teaching Scholars have received national and international acclaim in recognition of outstanding achievement. Established in 2000, the title of University Distinguished Teaching Scholar may be granted to up to twelve members of the faculty at Colorado State University. University Distinguished Teaching Scholars hold the title for the duration of their association with Colorado State University.

Jane R. Shaw, DVM, PhD is a recognized expert in veterinarian-client-patient interactions. Her dissertation was the first scientific study of veterinarian-client-patient communication and her publications focus on the analysis of videotaped conversations between veterinarians and their clients and animal patients. Professor Shaw implements the communication curriculum at Colorado State University, focusing on clinical interviewing skills to enhance professional performance through partnership with colleagues and clients.
